Türkiye: Tree Nuts Annual

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)   |   TU2026-0023
Although it is an “on-year” for pistachios in Turkiye, production will increase only 10 percent in market year (MY) 2026/27 to 130,000 metric tons (MT). Carry-over stocks will continue to compensate for the domestic demand, but pistachio prices are expected to increase as will imports for re-exports. While Turkiye’s production of tree nuts continues to grow, the country is expected to import substantial volumes of almonds and walnuts in MY 2026/27 to meet steady consumer demand. Imports of U.S. tree nuts are now on equal footing with other foreign competitors following Turkiye’s removal of its 10 percent retaliatory tariff. The United States will remain one of the top suppliers of walnuts, almonds, and pistachios to Turkiye.
